Commissioned sculpture
This piece, designed by Kirsty Ternent of Milton Keynes Arts For Health, was constructed to create a lit window installation in a former service hatch, separating an oiffice from a theatre waiting room. The curves of the installation were created by forming plywood layers into moulds from the technical drawing. Gaps left in the edges were filled with various coloured resins and sanded back to the wood and then the whole piece was veneered with american tulipwood, shellacked and polished with beeswax to produce a smooth shiny finish.
